A big thank you to everyone who participated on Saturday morning. We were lucky with the weather, and the large turnout.
We retrieved a huge amount of rubbish on the roads leading to and from the village, mostly wine bottles and soft drinks cans. It is very disappointing that people cannot be bothered to take their rubbish home with them and are happy to spoil our beautiful countryside.
Thank you to the Uplawmoor Litter Picking Team, who provided us with equipment, and for the Team’s ongoing, regular collection of the constant stream of litter.
Thank you also to our volunteers who provided scones, biscuits and refreshments for the litter pickers, and an ‘open house’ at the Mure Hall Cafe for other villagers.
