A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Uplawmoor Community Kids Sports Day on 17th August, especially the volunteers who helped make it happen, and the tennis club and Mure Hall committee for the use of their facilities.
It was a fantastic afternoon of fun, energy, and community spirit.
We’re delighted to share that together, we raised £66.40 (after expenses deducted). Every penny of this will be put back into our community, and all unused stock will be used at the next event. We’ll share details about the next event soon.
We also gathered some brilliant ideas on how the funds could be used, including:
- Continue to put on family events
- A music festival to showcase local bands
- Another sports day
- Clubs or activities for teenagers and older kids in the village
- Cinemas and movie nights for kids/teenagers.
We’d love you to vote on what you think we should prioritise. You can comment below with your choice and we’ll take this into account as we move forward.
We also want to highlight that there’s currently no one on the Community Council representing families with teenagers. If you’d like to help shape activities for this age group, please join us at our next Community Council meeting – 3rd September, 7.30pm, Mure Hall.
