A huge thank you to the 81 residents who completed our 2025 Community Census. Your input has given us a clear picture of what matters most to our village — from better paths and green spaces to community facilities and local services.
Key Highlights from the Results
- 81 responses – strong participation from long-term residents (most here 10+ years)
- 63% aged 35–64, with good representation across household types (2–4 people most common)
- Top priorities: improved transport links (including the Neilston-Uplawmoor path), access to green spaces, and community facilities like a shop or café
- Housing views are balanced – support for development if it brings infrastructure and amenities
- Over 90% are open to volunteering – a fantastic foundation for action

What We Agreed at the Community Council Meeting (12th November) We’re moving quickly to turn your feedback into action, starting with three priority initiatives.
- Path maintenance & improvements – keeping our local routes safe and accessible
- Evaluating a community shop or café – exploring options in the Church or Mure Hall
- Christmas Community Event at the Church – support needed to help serve refreshments
We’ll be sharing more details on each project and how to get involved very soon.
Want to Stay in the Loop? If you’d like to be added to our Volunteer & Updates List, please email: uplawmoorcouncil@gmail.com
There’s no obligation to volunteer – you’ll simply receive updates on projects, events, and opportunities to help when it suits you. A short follow-up survey will be sent to everyone who shared their email in the census, to match your interests and availability with the right roles.
Thank you again for helping shape the future of Uplawmoor.
